River's Edge Gear developed the QSA Model 102 Full FAC® Training backpack for QuickSilver, a company that provides an array of premier chemical and biological sampling products designed to provide superior capability in sample collection. QuickSilver prides itself on complete customer satisfaction and a quality product, specializing in custom designed kits to fit a client's specific needs. Their current and past customers include U.S. Army 22nd Chemical Battalion, National Guard WMD CST's, EOD Teams, HazMat Teams, U.S. Air Force and various First Responders. River's Edge Gear built the QSA Model in order to meet QuickSilver's high standards of quality and craftsmanship to satisfy their client's needs and expectations. The QSA Model 102 Full FAC® Training backpack is a chemical, biological, radiological and explosive field sampling kit. The backpack was built for quality assurance and control. The backpack was created to hold a variety of supplies such as sample jar assemblies, syringes, alcohol wipes, scalpels, nitril gloves, measuring tape and much more. The pockets and compartments were built for easy access for tools and supplies. The bag also has "Training" embroidered on the outside to clarify it is used for training purposes only. Project Challenges Required •  Compact Design—Shoulder and waist straps •  Easy access in a level A protective suit—Pull strings on zippers, zipper entire length of module for a wide opening •  Well organized—Colored and embroidered modules for each type of sample •  Removable compartments—Velcro in modules that can be removed •  Easy to see items—See through plastic windows in modules and mesh pockets •  Water resistant material in case sampling in bad weather—Urethane coated •  Training backpack is a different color to distinguish from the real kit—Bright blue with "training" embroidery All of these project challenges were successfully fulfilled by River's Edge Gear while exceeding Quicksilver's expectations. There were no challenges with production since River's Edge Gear is very good about turning around orders quickly. River's Edge Gear created excellent solutions for certain issues such as the use of padding in the backpack to protect sensitive/fragile items. Quicksilver is extremely satisfied with the development of the sampling kit and continues to sell the product to their clients.
